The Milestones of the ORCA-Group

1930

Mr. Ludwig Schaible founded the Ludwig Schaible KG, factory for clock-parts in Schwenningen. The main focus was to supply the domestic watch industry with gears, pinions and turned parts.

1939

The Ludwig Schaible KG moved into the new production facility in Lichtensteinstrasse 40.

1980

Large extension of the production plant and additional machinery.
This allows to expand into new technical fields like gear manufacturing, precisions engineering and medical industry.

1991

Foundation of Dremotec Präzisionsteile by Bernd Schaible (great-grandson of Ludwig Schaible) at the new site in VS-Schwenningen, Spittelbronner Weg. Manufacturing focus: turning and gearing technology.

1992

Emilie Staiger, the daughter of the company founder,  passed away at the 18th of October, 1992. Her son  Helmut Schaible and her grandson Bernd Schaible followed up. The production site of Dremotec went into the building of Ludwig Schaible KG.

1997

Acquisition of the company PFM Mall GmbH, Präzisionsfertigung, based in Dürbheim. Manufacturing focus: CNC milling for aerospace, automotive and mechanical engineering.

1998

Acquisition of the company WSD Krauss KG, situated on Heinkelstrasse in VS-Schwenningen. Manufacturing Focus: High-precision CNC turned parts for testing equipment and medical technology.

2000

Acquisition of the company Zisterer Präzisionsdrehteile GmbH, situated on Weiherstrasse in Gosheim. Manufacturing Focus: hydraulic components and automotive parts.

2003

Relocation of WSD Krauss GmbH & Co. KG to the new premises at Lichtensteinstraße 48, 78056 VS- Schwenningen.

 


 

2004

Relocation and expansion of PFM Mall GmbH from Dürbheim into the newly acquired property located at Albertistrasse 2 in VS-Schwenningen.

2006

The birth of the ORCA-Group: ORCA - the cutting group - the machining professionals. The distribution and administration centre at Albertistrasse 2 in VS-Schwenningen was created by successfully merging the individual companies and the pooling together their expertise and production "know-how".

2007

Establishment of the joint venture ORCA KBS GmbH & Co. KG situated at Spittelbronner Weg 87 in Schwenningen. Manufacturing focus: technology for multi-spindle turned parts from the automotive industry, electrical engineering and equipment manufacturing.

2009

Relocation for Zisterer Präzisionsdrehteile GmbH from the rented property in Gosheim to the newly built modern manufacturing facility in VS-Schwenningen, Albertistrasse 2.

2012

Transfer of Grässlin Präzisionstechnik GmbH to the ORCA - Group, as a machining company for high -precision and complex components. The focus is on components for aviation, mechanics and motor racing like Formula 1. 

An extension is created at the existing location of the company Grässlin Präzisionstechnik GmbH. Therefore the company PFM Mall GmbH is incorporated into the Grässlin Präzisionstechnik GmbH and from now on merged. The section of CNC milling concentrates on this location. 

2012

Dremotec GmbH & Co. KG was incorporated imto the L. Schaible GmbH & Co. KG.

2015

Transfer of the company ORCA Precision Parts  Sp. z o.o. in Pila into the ORCA-Group. As a specialist for small to middle series for high precision components. 

The focus of the company is in mechanics, medical technology and also hydraulic and aviation.

2018

Change of name of Grässlin Präzisionstechnik GmbH into ORCA Systems GmbH

Grässlin Präzisionstechnik GmbH, which has been part of the ORCA Group since 2012, will operate from now on under ORCA Systems GmbH. Hereby the close integration into the ORCA Group with headquarters in VS-Schwenningen is also clarified in the name.

2019

Opening of new building ORCA Precision Parts Sp. z o.o.

ORCA Precision Parts Sp. z o.o. now has more than 3,000 square metres of state-of-the-art production space in its own building, well tailored to the needs of ORCA Precision Parts Sp. z o.o..

The new building is logistically and energetically optimised and offers potential for further growth.

2020

Growth in Switzerland

The ORCA Group acquires a 50% stake (as a joint venture) in Neida Bärtschi AG in Biberist, Canton Solothurn.

Neida Bärtschi AG specializes in high-precision turned parts and assemblies in the fields of medical technology, building technology and automation technology.

2021

ORCA Systems GmbH takes over Motherson Techno Precision GmbH

Integration of the Motherson site in Bad Dürrheim into ORCA Systems GmbH. As a result, the previous production site in St. Georgen-Peterzell has also been relocated to Bad Dürrheim. 

The focus of production is on turning and milling technology for the automotive industry, apparatus engineering and e-mobility, among others.
